Saint Francis and Saint Benedict Walks

The thriving nature of the Holy Valley, which has remained practically unchanged overtime, welcomed Francesco, coming from his native land in search for a refuge, in a warm embrace. Perhaps it was precisely for this reason that the Saint chose the Rieti Holy Valley to accomplish three fundamental gestures of his life and spirituality. The stages of the Way of Francis follow the very itinerary he took eight hundred years ago.
The Holy Valley represents a true crossroads of paths: it is in fact also crossed by two stages of the Saint Benedict Walk, a pathway of 300 km that, from Umbria region, runs through the Lazio one until it reaches the border with Campania, towards the 3 paths: “From here passed Francis”, “With the wings to the feet” and “Saint Francis Walk”.
