Coppa Carotti
La Coppa Bruno Carotti o Rieti-Terminillo è una cronoscalata automobilistica, che si svolge sulla strada statale 4 bis che collega Rieti al monte Terminillo. Organizzata dall’ACI di Rieti, è valida per il campionato Italiano Velocità Montagna e per il campionato europeo della stessa specialità.
Il nome della coppa è dedicato al pilota reatino Bruno Carotti, morto nel settembre 1950 mentre disputava una gara su quel percorso.
La partenza è posta in località Lisciano (al km 5,400 della Strada statale 4 bis del Terminillo) l’arrivo è situato al km 20,500 della stessa strada in località Campoforogna.
I 15 km del tracciato si sviluppano lungo un dislivello di 1125 metri per una pendenza media dell’8%.
Le caratteristiche della strada (tratti a forte pendenza intervallati da tratti medio veloci, quattro tornanti e due chicane) rendono il percorso tra i più veloci e selettivi d’Europa.

It was established in 2016 with the aim of enhancing the sporting vocation of the city of Rieti. In fact, for 4 years now, it has been promoting sport, one of the most important attractors of the Rieti area, as well as potential driving force for the development of its province. The 4th edition of the Festival, hosted throughout the streets and squares of the historic city centre, has shown an imposing set-up with the installation of multipurpose structures for the practice of any sport.
From 7 to 16 June 2019, athletes and sporting associations from all over the province delighted the inhabitants eyes playing padel, volleyball, football, 3vs3 basketball, fencing, table tennis, table football, martial arts, running and cycling. 10 intense days, full of surprises and great emotions.
In the intentions of the project creators, the well-known SKY journalist Stefano Meloccaro, and the patron Sergio Battisti, both born in Rieti, there is the will to promote sport as a driving element in the processes of cohesion and integration as well as development and cultural and economic growth of the city.
The participation, in recent years, of numerous nationally renowned personalities such as Giovanni Malagò, Bebe Vio, Gianni Rivera, Paolo Bonolis, Carlo Verdone, Bruno Vespa, Massimo Giletti, Lorella Cuccarini, has given visibility to the territory and its historical-artistic peculiarities and nature.
Not only sport, but also meetings with national and international sports personalities, conferences, debates, events, live music and the “Rieti Sport Festival” prize ceremony, a gift to all the famous people that accept to enjoy this beautiful atmosphere and have distinguished themselves for their sporting spirit, technical organizational skills, talent, loyalty, sense of belonging and social integration.
