The Benedictine community dedicated to the founder of the Order is documented at Porta d’Arce since the 14th century.

The church annexed to the monastery was rebuilt by the foundations in the 18th century. The interior, a single nave, presents a pictorial decoration by the artist Emanuele Alfani, almost unchanged even after a few centuries.
A precious organ by Catarinozzi is located in the counter-façade, with the valuable choir stall placed above the entrance door.
